Sorry to say I have not posted in this blog since 2014, where has the time gone. I recently joined an online group headed by a very talented artist named Kelli Folsom, this is a painting I did from her last lesson. I am going to try really hard to keep this blog current with recent paintings that I am doing.
Happy beginning to this new week everyone. My post for today is a watercolor I did at our Splash IV meeting in Florida this year. The painting is from a photo by Kay S and was used to follow her workshop with us at this meeting. Thanks Kay for photo and your wonderful demostration. This is on a quarter sheet of Arches 140 cp. Thanks for viewing and I hope you enjoy this .
Happy Saturday everyone. Today I'm posting a painting I did earlier for our Painting Friends forum Challange. This was done from a photo provided by our Mollie in Painting Friends. Thanks Mollie.
This painting is done in oils on 11 by 14 gallery wrap canvas. I also painted this in watercolor and need to post that later after I photograph it again. Good morning everyone and in keeping my resolution, here is my second post of the new year. This is an oil done on canvas board 11 by 14 using palette knife only. I changed this from the original photo by adding flowers and making this look like people actually live here. I hope everyone has a lovely day and thanks all for viewing. norapaints@blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01621093267361325947noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3905152051300146093.post-90527473069212021332015-01-01T06:37:00.004-08:002015-01-01T06:50:27.186-08:00Elephants
Happy NewYear Everyone. My resolution for the new year is to keep this blog updated and not to leave
it slip as I have last year.
For my first entry of 2015 I've added this water color painting of elephants from our Painting Friends Splash IV meeting. I used a photo provided by Stephie Butler ( thanks Stephie). This is on a fourth sheet of Arches 140 cp .
Please enjoy this painting and I'd love to start hearing from you again. I've never really painted waves before, but since I live near the ocean, thought I'd give it a try. This is from one of my many photos that I took while at the beach.
This is my first painting of the new year and it is a water color. I haven't been painting with water color lately so very pleased with how it turned out. I got the photo for this from Sammy in Paint My Photo. Thank you so much Sammy, I really enjoyed painting this. Hope everyone enjoys viewing this still life.
Boy it seems forever since I've added a painting to this blog. I do apologize and plan to keep this as current as I can from now on. Here is a painting I did for the online workshop I have been taking. The workshop is in the The Complete Artist and run by Richard Robinson. For October we have been doing sunrises and sunsets in harmonious colors. I chose Yellow Orange/Blue Violet for my colors in here with a just a touch of Cad yellow light. Yellow Orange was made by using Yellow Ocre and white with the Blue violet added in to make it darker. For the Blue Violet I used Ultra Bl, Cad red light and Al Crim with just a touch of Yellow Ocre to gray it down. Please enjoy and feel free to comment. norapaints@blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01621093267361325947noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3905152051300146093.post-49121976133139031542013-08-25T06:01:00.002-07:002013-08-25T06:01:46.805-07:00Cherokee Autumn

This is the painting that I will be putting in the window of our gallery which is located in The Market Common, a new business area near Myrtle Beach, SC. It will stay there the whole month of September. I based this painting on a photo provided by Neil Empsall, then completely changed the season from summer to fall and the location of the stream to Cherokee, NC. I decided on Cherokee since we had a stream very much like this running behind our hotel room. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome.
I had an older painting that I was not crazy about, so I put it back up on the easel and reworked it. I completely changed the whole painting starting with the sky, the water and the sand. I have been taking photos of the waves and watching them when at the shore. So with this knowledge I painted this picture and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I hope this lets all of you have the feeling of a day at the beach and how enjoyable it is. Thanks for viewing and please comment.
I had an old painting that I did not like so I sanded it down as much as possible then gessoed over it. I used some of a photo by Charlie Capuano from Paint My Photo and then my own cloths. The blue and white one was my mothers so thus the title. I was also in this painting playing with warm and cool whites. Please enjoy this painting and thanks for viewing. Also would love to hear from you.
First let me thank Gary Jones from Paint My Photo for this photo of a lion. Then let me thank Stephie for her demo on our Painting Friends Forum. I had a wonderful time painting her and using my watercolors again. I painted this with a large brush #26 and dropped different colors in it. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and thanks for viewing.
