Apples And Basket

We have started a Drawing Corner  in our Painting Friends Form, because of this I have started doing simple drawings.  I took two apples and a small basket I had and set up this still life.  I used different graphite pencils from HB to 6B on Canson  100lb Bristol paper.  Since I haven't drawn in a while I enjoyed doing this. Nice to just sit down with a pencil and paper and draw.
Thankyou everyone for taking time to view and comment. I appreciate all of you.

  1. Nora, this is lovely! I especially like those value contrasts between the highlight and shadow on the apples. I rarely do any drawing beyond sketching; maybe I should have a go at something more substantial.

  2. Gosh Nora! This is beautiful! I believe with every ounce of my fiber that drawing is foundational to good art, no matter the medium. You've got it mastered.

  3. Thankyou Autumn I agree with you but my drawing isn't any where near it was when I was young. I have to work on it more.

  4. Love piece, Nora. You have such a delicate touch with the pencil.

  5. Oops, meant "lovely" piece instead of "Love". Nimble fingers, eh.

  6. Well, you may think your drawing skills are not up to par, but it certainly doesn't show in this picture. Beautiful!
