Moored Boats On Wynah Bay
Boy it is forever since I posted on this blog it seems. So sorry for that but life seems to go in different
directions from when I started this. For the up coming year I hope to do more art work and try and keep this blog current. Even if it is just studies, doodles etc.
This is a painting I did for a on line workshop doing cloud studies. This on line workshop is led by Richard Robinson an outstanding Australian painter and can be found in the Complete Artist. I hope every one sees this painting as a lovely summer day just resting on the water with beautiful puffy clouds traveling across the sky. Love to hear your comments and thanks for viewing. .

Two Different Looks of the Same Bridge
These two watercolors are from a photo I took back in 2008. This covered bridge is in Western Pennsylvania where I used to live. The season I decided to paint for both of them is Late Summer Early Fall, when the leaves are just starting to turn.
This side view one is very close to what the photo looks like .
For this head on view I changed the area around the bridge. I took out the stone wall on the left and added fence posts. I also changed trees and added another fence on the right. The distant bg is also different. I hope you enjoy the quietness of these two paintings as there was no one around when I took these photos. Thanks for viewing, please leave a comment if you like.

Mollie's Still Life
Wanted everyone to see what we ( Painting Friends ) worked on at our recent get together in Florida. This is from a photo taken by a wonderful artist, Mollie Jones, who is also one of our members. The photo and drawing we used was to show us how much fun it is to do silver in watercolor. Boy I enjoyed painting this one and I hope everyone sees my joy in this. Thanks Mollie for the set up . And thank you all for viewing and commenting on this painting,

Why I Like Blue
Finally after 3 years my Hydrangea Bush bloomed. Yahoo so I cut two big blossoms and set up this still life to paint. Of course my eye was drawn to the blue in the flower and so I followed that color throughout my painting. I added the peaches and their rich yellows and oranges for contrast. Please enjoy my flowers as much as I did while they lasted. Thanks for viewing.

I hope everyone is enjoying this summer as it goes so fast. Thanks for viewing and love to see your comments.

A Radish Study
This is a little study I did of radishes in watercolor. This is small just half of a quarter sheet of Arches 140 CP. I was pleased with how well my rose color in the beets turned out as well as the greens. I hope everyone enjoys this little painting and thanks again for looking and commenting. Have a great week.

Just Popping
Happy Friday to everyone. On my Painting Friends Forum our member Mollie gave us a challenge. It was to do a Poppy. I finally got a round to painting with watercolors. For my photo, I used one from Macdragon in Wet Canvas. Thank you so much for your lovely photo. To get the very dark bg I used several glazes.
This is not large about an 1/8 of a watercolor sheet. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for looking in.

First Break In Storm
This is from a photo of mine showing the view from Murrells Inlet looking toward Garden City. I had painted this once but wasn't happy with it. So since it was completely dry I went back and repainted this one.
This is oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas 18" by 24"
Please enjoy and love to hear any comments. Thank you for viewing

Garlic and Jar
As all of you can see, I really took a break from doing any watercolors. Last week though I started again.
This was done rather quickly using minimum colors and working wet n wet. I hope to post more often in here, not only showing my watercolors but also my oils. I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Thanks for looking and please comment also.

Allow Me
This is a very quick watercolor painting of a rose I did the other day. The method I used was basically
drawing with water and then dropping in the color. For the title this reminded me of someone letting someone else go by. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks everyone for viewing, I hope to start posting in here more often. I also appreciate all the comments.

Thank You Ann so much for this lovely photo. I'd like all of you to go and check out our forum and view all the beautiful art on the front page. Thank you all for viewing this and I really love to read your comments.

Thinking Of Spring
I know it's only the end of January but a person can think ahead. We have been having a warm winter this year so my mind goes to Daffodils. I did this watercolor rather quickly using a very loose method. I first wet the paper all over then I dropped in different yellows. After the paper dried completely I used blues and the yellows very wetly to form the flower. After it completely dried I used darker colors for shading. Please enjoy this little flower who always announces that Spring is here. Thankyou for viewing and commenting.

Yop Challenge For January
This is for our Year of Monthly challenges for January. The goal was to create and paint our own still life or landscape. I decided instead of landscapes to do my own still life setup. I used a white vase I owned, my husband's aunts silver and clementines on a white table cloth with dark bg. I really enjoy painting silver now, and think these spoons came out beautifully. Please take a moment to enjoy this and comment. I really appreciate all of you, Thank You .
