An Iris

Happy New Year Everyone
This painting is from a photo provided by my Painting Friend Susan.  On our forum we have a Friday Foto where one member supplies a photo and then we have all week to paint it.  I worked on this all day yesterday and finished it today.  The main color in the flower is Cobalt  Blue with touches of Ver Blue and French Ultra Blue. For the background I used Indathrone Blue, Hookers Green, Perm Green Deep an Yellow Ocre.  My only concern with this one is that I wish I could of gotten the back ground a little darker. 
  I hope every one had a very happy Holiday Season and wishes for a wonderful 2010.

    Nora, this is so beautiful. The light upper part of your background gives the painting a bright, sunny look ...I like it! Your art is off to a fantastic start in 2010.
